Homemade Cracker Wedding Favors

Cracker favors are cheap wedding party favors that you can make yourself. Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life but homemade wedding favors can be stylish too so have a go at making your own.

Wedding Cracker Favors

Crackers are fun for all ages and can be placed at the place setting of your guests. You can also use this idea for a kids birthday party, winter party, baby shower etc.

What you will need:

1 sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 handmade paper (use the best you can afford)
1 cardboard toilet tissue tube
1 pull-snapper (available at craft supply stores)
1 party favor (almonds, chocolates, packet of flower seeds etc
a joke or verse handwritten on a 1 x 3 inch strip of paper
1 folded tissue crown (instructions below)
2 pieces of ribbon for each end

Fill the tube with your party favor, joke and paper crown.

Insert pull-snapper so that the ends stick out equally from the ends of the tube.

Wrap the tube in handmade paper lengthwise and secure ends tightly with raffia. A small line of glue or double sided tape will seal the seam.

To make a crown:

1 sheet of tissue paper 30 x 20”
glue or tape
scissors

Fold the tissue paper in half, lengthwise, to make a rectangle 30 x 10”

Repeat the above step so that the rectangle now measures 30 x 5”

Fold the long strip in half, end to end. Now the piece is 15 x 15”

Repeat the above step to form a piece 7 1/2 x 5”Cut V shapes out of one of the 7 1/2 x 5” ends

Open the folded pieces. Trim to 24” and glue the ends in place.

Obviously you can leave out the crown if wished.
