Kid Birthday Party Recipe

Here is the ultimate kid birthday party recipe for popcorn balls. You've made the invitations, they are all posted and now you are in need of ideas to put on the kid birthday party menu.

Kid Birthday Party Menu Idea

In my experience kids do not eat much at parties. They are so busy playing all the party games, they hardly have time to eat or drink.

To make approx. 15 popcorn balls:

80g popcorn, 2-3 dessert spoons oil, 50g almonds, 50g unsalted peanuts, 2 dessert spoons butter, 250g marshmallows, extra oil and aluminium foil.

Prepare the popcorn per packet instructions. Sort out and discard any kernels that are still hard. Chop the almonds roughly and mix with the unsalted peanuts and popcorn in a large bowl.

Melt the butter in a pan and add the marsmallows. Continually stir with a wooden spoon until smooth and creamy. This will take approx. 10 minutes.

Pour the creamy mixture immediately (it will harden quickly) over the popcorn and mix. Coat your fingers lightly in oil and make approx 15 balls out of the mixture.

If liked, mix 1-2 dessert spoons raisins or cranberries into the mixture to make a fruity popcorn ball.
