"Make your own birth announcements
and cute new baby cards."
I know the feeling as a new mother, you are very tired and the last thing you want to think about is making your own birth announcements. But with a little forward planning and a few creative ideas, making birth announcements is a doddle.
If you know the sex of your baby then life is a little easier. Before the birth, when you can still walk, go to your local craft shop and select some scrapbooking background paper and also some stamps or baby embellishments. You can always shop online of course if preferred.
If you prefer something cute, then I suggest using some baby embellishments. You can choose from baby bottles, pacifiers, bibs etc to decorate the announcement. If this is your preferred option you can purchase all the necessary craft materials up front. Or have you thought about making a cute cowboy birth announcement for your new buckaroo! Another idea is to purchase a baby footprint stamp or a stamp ink pad and create a real baby footprint. I would suggest doing this whilst your baby is asleep. Print out 3-4 on a daily basis and you'll have them finished in no time. Your baby footprint birth announcement will also serve as a keepsake for friends and family.
